How do interviewers evaluate your Coding Interviews
Hello! My name is Di Wu. I am a former tech lead manager at Waymo, and former engineer at Meta/Facebook. I have conducted more than 200 coding interviews for Waymo and Meta in the past, and I am one of the contributors to the coding interview hiring guidelines for interviewers at both companies.
Let's face it - Grinding on 300+ LeetCode questions sucks. LeetCode HARD questions suck.
This short digital course aims to help you practice more effectively with fewer problems by understanding how coding interviewers evaluate you. We also provide a comprehensive Interview Scorecard that you can use to evaluate yourself or have your friends use to conduct mock interviews with you.
By the end of the course, you will understand how interviewers evaluate you and will have practiced with a limited number of LeetCode Medium problems to prepare for your interviews.
🚩 Stop the guesswork. Candidates can still fail interviews even if they have previously solved the problem. Relying on memorization reduces your chances of success as it discourages practicing the thought process.
👍 Know what interviewers are looking for. Rather than trying to guess the interview questions, begin by identifying specific behaviors your interviewers are likely to value and practice those.
🗣️ Get the right feedback. The Interview Scorecard provides more than just "Accepted", "Time Limit Exceeded", and "Wrong Answer". You receive comprehensive feedback on your performance, enabling you to improve in a targeted manner.
💬 The best way to prepare for an interview is to actually participate in one. Use the Interview Scorecard with your friends or with us to receive detailed feedback, similar to what Hiring Committees will see in real interviews.
